Principal Planner

This position as a professional planner involves all phases of community planning, intergovernmental coordination, land development administration, and other activities that involves the Community Development Department. Professional work that requires the employee to initiate, manage and successfully complete planning projects as defined herein and by the City of Port Orange Comprehensive Plan and Vision Statement. The position will require the Principal Planner to act independently in carrying out specific tasks, while at the same time being able to participate in or coordinate team-oriented project.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Planning or closely related field.
• Four (4) years’ of experience or training in planning or development-related field; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations

o American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)
